COACHES

Most coaches are in their line of work because of a love of the sport and a passion for helping kids. Our expertise typically comes from years of playing and experiencing various coaches in our own career paths — some amazing and some, not so much. Today, sports are different. Kids are spending way more time perfecting and learning their craft than what we did even 5-10 years ago. The cost of college is much greater, as is the pressure on families to set their kids up for success. Our athletes are bringing more to the field, ice, court, or water, but coaches have little to no training on how to support kids dealing with issues like anxiety and depression. Our goal is to educate and equip coaches with best practices on how to support today’s athletes. Our mission is not to change what you are doing but to offer suggestions and to inform you on current issues. Coaches are also considered mandatory reporters but are rarely, if ever, taught what that means.

We believe strongly in consistency and structure for kids. We have tools and ideas to share with you so your athletes not only feel better but perform better. Addressing the needs of our athletes and understanding their mental health will ultimately strengthen them and foster a healthier well-being.

Coach training can be tailored to the needs of your staff. Our goal is to help you feel equipped and comfortable with these topics but also provide you with resources so you don't feel like this is all on your shoulders.

Sessions will include but are not limited to the following:
  • Mandatory reporting laws and protocol

  • Information on current stress and struggles that kids are dealing with in terms of their mental health and well-being

  • Strategies and tools to best support your athletes

  • The impact of family stress and suggestions on how to work with families

  • Q&A with examples and thought-out solutions
